Having a great interest in alternative therapy, I decided to enroll in Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic. It was a 2-year diploma program and I received 2200 hours in Swedish Massage Therapy education. During my training I participated in a variety of outreaches that gave me the opportunity to work with clients with a diverse set of conditions and health states. The clinics I enjoyed most were focused on clients with central nervous system disorders, pregnancy, as well as breast cancer and post operative conditions. After I became registered in Ontario I worked in a spa and a multi-disciplinary clinic. I gained skills in both areas and found this practice to suit me very well because of its fusion of two very different atmospheres.
